Perhaps The Jury Got It Wrong… Again??

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Jurors who convicted O.J. Simpson of armed robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas say they did not rely on witness testimony to find him guilty of all 12 counts he faced.

Michelle Lyons, one of seven jurors to speak to reporters Sunday night, said jurors felt they “could not rely on that witness testimony.”

Lyons said jurors instead used video, audio and documented evidence in order to evaluate whether Simpson was guilty of each count.

Jury foreman Paul Connelly said it was “perhaps” a waste for prosecutors to have given plea deals to several Simpson co-defendants in exchange for their testimony, since the jury did not rely on it.

The 61-year-old former Hall of Fame football star was convicted late Friday of charges stemming from a hotel room confrontation one year ago. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 5.

“I Love Me Some Me”

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

I love me some me!! That is my new favorite saying. Although Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens has been saying that since he played in San Francisco as a 49er, I adopted that as my football line for the 2008-09 season. I LOVE ME SOME ME! That says it all. Hahahaha. T.O. scored two touchdowns in last nights exciting Monday Night Football game and each time I screamed out, “I love me some me”. Does it fit? Does it even make sense? Nope! Not at all, I just enjoy saying it.

In honor of T.O.’s big game and the Cowboys win, here are some fun Terrell Owens videos for ya. You’re welcome!

Monarchs Game In Houston Cancelled!!

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

The Women’s National Basketball Association game scheduled for Friday evening, September 12, between the Sacramento Monarchs and Houston Comets at Reliant Arena in Houston has been postponed due to severe weather conditions anticipated as a result of Hurricane Ike.

The WNBA is working toward rescheduling the game for Monday evening, September 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Reliant Arena. A formal decision will depend upon a variety of logistics and an assessment of the outcome of the storm in the Houston area.

The Monarchs have locked up the fourth position in the Western Conference playoffs. There’s no need to reschedule this game. Cancel it and keep it moving!

Everyone is hurting because of the awful housing market in this country. Even Allen Iverson. For a limited time only you can own Allen Iverson’s house in Philadelphia for the low low price of… $3.99 million. That’s $1 million less then he paid for it in 2003. Yay!! Let the bidding begin.

Tiger Woods ‘09

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Tiger has always made some classic commercials and these two are no exception. Why do I get the feeling he could really do this if he concentrated hard enough? Hmm… Enjoy!

Bye Bye Brady… Hello T.O.

Monday, September 8th, 2008

The New England Patriots are holding a press conference as we speak to announce Tom Brady is hurt. Bad! Duh. It didn’t look good when he went out yesterday 3 plays into the 2008 NFL season. By the time you read this it’ll be confirmed but I heard reports if a torn ACL. Those unfamiliar with ACL tears, that pretty much means we won’t see Tom Brady again until September of 09.

In other NFL news, the Cowboys beat the Cleveland Browns 28-10 and the Raiders play tonight. Good luck, D-Mac my fantasy team is riding on you.

Must See TV!

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

For 3 hours last night I sat in front of the television. I was fixed on a program that had as much drama and excitement as anything I’ve ever seen. For 3 hours I sat with my laptop in hand attempting to get some work done only to find myself staring at the two characters in front of me.

I realize there are a lot of people who don’t “get” tennis, but if you missed the quarterfinal match-up between Venus and Serena Williams last night you missed one of the most compelling pieces of television in recent history. It was the classic big sister refusing to let little sister win scenario. Only problem is… little sister wasn’t having it! Venus controlled the entire match but was unable to win any set points. Just when you thought Serena was done, she’d come roaring back and eventually beat her younger sister in straight sets 7-6, 7-6.

If you’ve never watched tennis I encourage you to give it a try. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal competed in the greatest sporting event I’ve seen all year when the played in the Wimbledon final. Seriously, broaden your mind a little bit. Give it a chance.

Here’s some highlights I found on You Tube, set to some Luther Vandross!
